Troubleshooting

Start from the HTTP status and exact error code. MAGLA Memory returns bounded machine-readable errors instead of generic success messages.

Authentication

401 AUTH_REQUIRED — add Authorization: Bearer ....

401 AUTH_INVALID — the key is malformed, revoked, inactive, or does not match the project.

Quota

429 MONTHLY_QUOTA_EXCEEDED — the rolling 30-day limit for the effective plan is exhausted.

Work receipt

400 WORK_RECEIPT_INVALID — receipt could not be verified.

403 WORK_RECEIPT_SCOPE_MISMATCH — the receipt belongs to another tenant or scope.

400 WORK_RECEIPT_EXPIRED — start a new preflight; receipts expire after 24 hours.

If /readyz is not ready or a request returns a 5xx, do not invent a checkpoint locally. Preserve the error and retry only after service readiness is restored.
